Synopsis
A glimpse at Alex's life with her family back home in New Zealand. Playing at the beach, enjoying drawing in the sand and making sand-castles.
We then return to the present when Alex becomes an adult. Once she finishes reminiscing about her childhood at the same beach she used to visit, and enters back into reality.

Home is a nostalgic film poem. We incorporated personal, nostalgic memories of when we miss our home and family. Having been born and raised in New Zealand, beaches are a core memory from our childhood.
As a kid, I enjoyed drawing, so I thought of animating quick scribbles. It has cliched motifs like stick figures of family members and a drawing of the sun in the corner. The audience may reminisce with this straightforward drawing style when they were a child.
We also set up a colour palettes to ensure consistent colour grading, matching the theme of each shot. In the beginning, the colour palette is heartwarming, which later transitions into a sentimental, nostalgic mood through softer blues.
Overall, we hope that our film poem will help the audience reminisce about precious memories and feel back at home.
